Welcome to West End Pediatrics, P.C., where you'll find health care professionals and staff dedicated to providing you with the highest level of quality care... personal, considerate, sensitive, and knowledgeable.

Since our inception more than twenty years ago, West End Pediatrics, P.C. has been committed to providing the finest in pediatric health care. Now in our third decade of practice, we have the pleasure of watching our former pediatric patients, now parents themselves, bring their children to us.

Our pediatricians are board-certified and received their education and training from some of the country's most renowned medical schools and pediatric residency programs and have been nominated for various awards throughout the years. We are very proud of our backgrounds, which are provided for your review on our site.

We are committed to making each visit as pleasant as possible for you and your family. Our nurses, medical assistants and receptionists share our passion for caring for children. The West End Pediatrics facilities are child-friendly and comfortable, and our offices are established in convenient locations with convenient hours. We value listening to our patients and families so that we can improve the care and service we provide to you.

West End Pediatrics has, in some form, been a part of the Upper West Side for 25 years and a part of the Greenwich Village for over 15 years. Below you can find a timeline of the complete history of West End Pediatrics.

1987 – The practice begins as “Softness and Rosenfeld”. Drs. Barney Softness and Suzanne Rosenfeld share an office in Schwab House (73rd and West End) with an internist.
1988 – Dr. Michael Rosenbaum covers the practice on weekends while finishing his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at The New York Hospital and Rockefeller University.
1989 – The practice moves to its current location on West End Avenue between 81st and 82nd street.
Dr. Michael Rosenbaum joins the practice after the birth of his son. “Softness and Rosenfeld” becomes “West End Pediatrics”

Caption: West End Pediatrics was a reunion of sorts. Drs. Rosenbaum and Softness had both attended Amherst College and majored in neuroscience. Drs. Softness and Rosenfeld had been medical school classmates at Columbia. All 3 of them had been in overlapping residences at Columbia Presbyterian (Babies) Hospital.

1993 – Dr. Adine Brandes joins West End Pediatrics after being the Assistant Director of the Emergency Room at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York.
1997 – Greenwich Village  office opens.
2003 – Dr. Lisa Thebner joins West End Pediatrics from an academic practice affiliated with Schneider Children’s Hospital and an active media career as a health expert on NBC Today.
